ABOUT THE COURSE
Technology is part of nearly everything students do today, from completing school assignments to communicating, creating presentations, and preparing for future careers.

Yet knowing how to use a phone or browse the internet doesn't necessarily mean knowing how to use a computer effectively.
Our Essential Computer Skills course bridges that gap.
Students learn practical computer skills in a supportive, engaging environment with step-by-step instruction and opportunities to practice what they're learning.

Whether your student is new to digital tools or ready to become more independent with technology, this course builds a foundation they can continue using for years to come.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Six Weeks. Real-World Digital Skills.
Week 1: Computer Basics & Digital Organization
Learn how to navigate computer functions, organize files, create folders, and manage digital documents.
Week 3: Google Slides & Presentations
Design engaging presentations while learning how to organize information and communicate ideas visually.
Week 5: Internet Research, Safety & Email Etiquette
Practice responsible online research, identify reliable sources, protect personal information, and write clear, professional emails.
Week 2: Google Docs & Word Processing
Create and format professional-looking documents, reports, and school assignments.
Week 4: Google Sheets & Spreadsheets
Learn to create tables, organize data, and use basic formulas in spreadsheets.
Week 6: Final Digital Project
Bring everything together! Students complete a digital project using the skills they've developed throughout the course.
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
Small Classes. Hands-On Learning. Real Results.
Live Weekly Classes
Students attend one 60-minute Zoom class each week for six weeks, with interactive instruction and opportunities to ask questions.
Guided Practice & Activities
Each lesson includes practical demonstrations and activities so students can practice using technology, not just watch someone explain it.
Small Group Learning
With a maximum of eight students per class, students receive personalized attention and opportunities to participate.
Final Project & Certificate
Students apply their new skills through a final project and can receive a certificate of completion upon successfully finishing the course requirements.
What You'll Need
A laptop or desktop computer, reliable internet access, Zoom, and access to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. Parent or guardian assistance may be needed for initial setup.

Meet Tara Spring
Tara Spring is the founder of Marketing Warehouse LLC, a digital marketing and technology services company specializing in website development, digital systems, business technology, and online communications.

With more than six years of professional experience, Tara has helped businesses and individuals navigate technology, develop digital skills, and work more effectively with online platforms.
​
She also provides recurring computer systems and technology training for students at the Institute of Regenerative Health, leading weekly instruction throughout multiple training programs each year.
​
Through Essential Computer Skills for Students, Tara brings that experience to younger learners, helping them build confidence, independence, and practical technology skills in a supportive virtual classroom.
